The Atlanta Copperheads dealt the Baltimore Clippers a 5-3 loss at Patapsco Field. Jim Duchesne was the star on offense. He slugged 2 home runs. Marco Middleton was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Buck Guthrie. The win brings the Copperheads to 7-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Duchesne had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 3-1 fastball from Buck Guthrie, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Copperheads a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Duchesne.

Atlanta manager Don Fox attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
