| 1000 Hits for Finney | He made it!
David Finney got hit #1000! The Cannons center fielder got his milestone hit at Fort Wayne Grounds against Indianapolis. But it wasn't enough to bring home the victory. Fort Wayne was beaten by the Red Caps 11-1.
Finney's reaction to his accomplishment was nonchalant. He doffed his batting helmet to acknowledge the fans, who were chanting his name.
His manager said, "David doesn't pay any attention to individual statistics, the only thing he cares about is winning. He will be more concerned that we lost the game."
Finney finished the game with 2 hits in 4 at-bats.
