| Baltimore Beaten, 3-2, by Boston | Boston and Baltimore took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Boston Beacons topped the Baltimore Cannons, 3-2, in Union League action at Beacon Park. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Rio Vista, California, native Fred Wilson. The winner was Joe Connors in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Harry Petrie took the loss. John Hicks recorded the save, his 2nd.
Boston took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Wayne Moses hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Beacons in front, 3-2.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Baltimore manager Monty Beatson.
The Beacons, now 10-5, have been red hot.
