Dewey Allcock, who led the CA in ERA with 3.31 in 1960, propelled his team to victory over the Montreal Saints. The final score was 10-7, Los Angeles. Buddy Foster recorded the save, his 2nd. The Saints drop to 5-8, as their fitful start to the 1963 campaign continues.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Tom Clement? The 31-year old shortstop Clement stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 14th inning to put Los Angeles up, 9-7. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We take it day by day here," said Clement, "and today was a good one for us."
