| Cougars Pick Up 4-1 Win Against San Francisco | Chicago got a strong outing from Hal Adams as the Cougars defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 4-1, at Cougars Park. Adams, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Jim Norris recorded the save, his 1st.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from third baseman Pablo Vazquez. For the game, Vazquez was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Adams said after the game.
San Francisco now has a record of 7-4.
