| Number 2500 for Albright | It was a day of mixed emotions for Chicago shortstop Mort Albright, who collected his 2500th hit in the club's 4-3 loss to St. Louis. Chiefs and Pioneers fans alike cheered Albright as he reached base after his milestone hit.
"I wish the score had been different," Albright said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special... even the fans wearing Pioneers caps were cheering me."
Albright was 1-for-4 on the day.
