Ray Flowers kept the Detroit Dynamos hitters from doing much damage at Thompson Field.

Detroit could only muster 8 hits and draw 2 walks against the right-handed Flowers, who controlled them throughout the game. Chicago won the contest, 7-0. Flowers added 1 strikeout in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Flowers told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
