Toronto Defeated By Foresters, 6-1 | The Cleveland Foresters went home winners at Forester Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Les Hanauer. Hanauer stifled the Toronto Wolves, enabling Cleveland to grab the 6-1 win. Cleveland goes to 9-5.
Paul Williams had a big 3-run home run for the Foresters in the bottom of the third inning. With Cleveland leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a screwball from Arnie Smith, who finished 5th in the CA in wins with 16 last year, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Foresters on top, 6-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Williams. | |
