| Cougars Victors, 5-1, at Toronto | The Chicago Cougars downed the Toronto Wolves, 5-1, at Dominion Stadium. Stellar pitching by Hal Adams had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 2nd in the CA in innings pitched with 263.0 in 1965, handcuffed his opponent all game. Adams yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1. His record improves to 3-5. With the victory, the Cougars upped their record to 28-26.
Fuzzy Cronin, who is tied for 4th in the CA in stolen bases with 12, helped out the Chicago cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
Said losing manager Carl Evans: "We just didn't get it done tonight." | |
