Miners Drop 3-1 Decision | The Philadelphia Keystones earned a close win over the Pittsburgh Miners, thanks in part to Joe Kienle. The Philadelphia right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the FA with a 1.14 WHIP, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Charlie Rushing got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 3rd of the year. The 5th-place Keystones improved to 34-31.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Harry Dellinger? The Philadelphia center fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Keystones on top, 3-0. For the game, Dellinger had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Kienle called the win a test of his team's "mettle." | |
