| Saints Deal Cannons Painful Loss | The Montreal Saints electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
The Montreal Saints did just enough to secure a victory over the Cincinnati Cannons, 4-3, in 11 innings at Stade Montreal. Nobody did more than pitcher Bob Nelson. The Saints move to 26-49 with the win, while the Cannons drop to 37-39.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Montreal. That's when Jim Johnston hit a solo home run off three-time All-Star Hal Miller to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Montreal manager Lynn Gray.
