| Arrows Bridle Mavericks, 3-2 | The Milwaukee Arrows picked up a win at Lakefront Park, topping the Kansas City Mavericks, 3-2. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Tex Cavanaugh. He played a principal role in the triumph. Cavanaugh, now 3-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Bud Andrews, his 1st.
The Arrows got a big at-bat from first baseman Dennis Miller. For the game, Miller went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Cavanaugh said.
