Keystones Shut Out Eagles, 9-0
Philadelphia starter Jim Elliott ran into little resistance from Washington hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 9-0. In 5.1 innings, Elliott surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Keystones, at 59-63, inhabit 5th place in the Federal Association.

The Keystones got a big hit from left fielder Del Filo. Facing Washington pitcher Owen Lantz in the bottom of the sixth, Filo pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 13th home run of the season put the Keystones ahead, 9-0.

Keystones manager Don Fox had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
