Minutemen Wrest Win from Comets, 7-6
Boston starter Richie Thornton turned in a competent performance at Minuteman Stadium as the Minutemen beat the Houston Comets, 7-6. Boston reliever Harry Draper picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Dutch Lane was saddled with the loss. The third-place Minutemen now have a win-loss record of 28-24.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, former first round draft pick Bruce Hunt had a chance to be the hero. Houston pitcher Dutch Lane had other ideas. But with two outs, Hunt drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Minutemen had themselves a dramatic win.

"Richie answered the bell," said Boston manager Dode Edwards.
