The Baltimore Clippers got a stellar effort from pitcher Johnny Hugot, helping Baltimore score a win over the visiting Detroit Dynamos, 5-0. In 7.2 innings, Hugot surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Baltimore is now 28-23. Detroit is 18-32.

With Baltimore leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Hugot batted against Detroit pitcher Jack Vander Kooi. Hugot hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Clippers on top, 3-0.
