| Gothams Roll Over Dynamos, 9-4 | The New York Gothams locked up a win at Gotham Stadium, knocking off the Detroit Dynamos, 9-4. On the mound for New York was right-hander Rex Conner. He played a major role in the triumph. Conner, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The 5th-place Gothams go to 35-40.
With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Conner came up to bat against Detroit pitcher Roy Schaub. Conner hit a changeup to left-center for a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season put the Gothams on top, 3-0.
"Rex was good -- real good," said Gothams manager Bert Carlton.
