| Minneapolis Loses, 3-1, to Los Angeles in 11 | In a low-scoring contest, Los Angeles pitcher Heinie Schmidt was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win in 11 innings. Ron Clark earned the save for Los Angeles, his 3rd. Minneapolis, with the loss, is 6-5.
Schmidt was effective for Los Angeles, seldom allowing the Millers to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 134 pitches over 9 innings. He limited Minneapolis to just 1 run on 4 hits.
"Heinie just settled in and did what he does," said Los Angeles manager Jim Coulter.
