| Smith Leads Wranglers to 1-0 Win over Imperials | Ed Smith, who is a two-time Diamond Defense Award winner, was in top form in a tight contest between Dallas and New York. The Wranglers right-hander helped his team beat the Imperials, 1-0. Asbury Ashmore closed the game out for Dallas, earning his 5th save. After today's action, Dallas sits at 26-24, while New York falls to 28-22.
Smith, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Wranglers. For the most part, New York hitters were simply overmatched.
"Ed can overpower you," said Dallas manager George Waller. | |
