The Atlanta Copperheads and the Los Angeles Suns will take the Association Championship Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Copperheads beat the Suns, 7-5, at Wilshire Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Atlanta catcher Howard Smith went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

A key moment came with two out in the top of the third. That's when Smith hit a curveball from Jim Place for a 2-run single, putting Atlanta up, 4-0.

"I had a good game," said Smith. "Winning makes it even better."

Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday at Peachtree Stadium in Atlanta.
