Hurlbutt Blasts Copperheads, Suns Take Game 3, 5-4
The Los Angeles Suns moved to within one game of the World Championship Series, downing the visiting Atlanta Copperheads at Wilshire Park by a score of 5-4. Suns center fielder Larry Hurlbutt did some major damage. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Suns a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Championship Series.

Los Angeles took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Gene Meadows hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Suns fans to their feet.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Atlanta manager Don Fox. "But we decided not to take it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wilshire Park in Los Angeles.
