| Cannons Defeated, 2-1, After Los Angeles Rallies | Bill Dunham, who is tied for 8th in the CA in complete games with 1, never let the Cannons get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Stars to a win, 2-1. Los Angeles bumps their record to 31-22 with the win.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Ralph Barrell to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Charlie Britton. | |
