| Cincinnati Befuddled by Lowery in 3-0 Loss | The Cincinnati Cannons manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Seattle Kings. The Cannons were overpowered by Seattle starter Moe Lowery, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Charlie Britton said.
Over 9 innings, Lowery blanked Cincinnati on 7 hits with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Lowery said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
So far this season, Lowery has a record of 5-5 with 59 strikeouts and 18 walks in 88.1 innings and a 2.95 ERA. | |
