| Imperials Net 3-1 Win Over Cannons | New York Imperials starter Bob Roberts turned in an exceptional performance against the Cincinnati Cannons at Tice Memorial Stadium II, resulting in a New York win, 3-1. In 8 innings, Roberts surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Glenn Webb notched his 6th save in 8 chances.
Jay Ziegler Jr. came through with a big-time hit for New York. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We busted our tails," said Cincinnati manager Hal Upton. "But we came up short."
