| Kings Even With Copperheads After Home Win | The Seattle Kings and the Atlanta Copperheads will take the World Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Kings beat the Copperheads, 6-1, at Seattle Municipal Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Seattle right-hander John Howell had a big role in the win. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball.
Fred Tollefson hit a solo home run off Jack Kotarski in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Kings ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Tollefson had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Seattle manager Alex Watt said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Seattle Municipal Stadium in Seattle. | |
