Moreland Blasts Kings, Copperheads Take Game 1, 4-3
The Atlanta Copperheads started the World Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Seattle Kings at Seattle Municipal Stadium by a score of 4-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Copperheads first baseman John Moreland excelled. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

Had Moreland not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Moreland hit a run-scoring single. The Copperheads took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"We're happy," Moreland told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Seattle Municipal Stadium in Seattle.
