New York Tumbles Again, Falls, 6-2, to Toronto
The 1963 season is getting uglier for New York.

Arnie Smith, who finished 3rd in the CA in innings pitched with 246.1 last year, was locked in. The right-hander led the Toronto Wolves to a 6-2 win against the New York Imperials at Dyckman Stadium. The winner was Smith. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Frank Williams.

The Wolves got a big at-bat from center fielder Sid Cullen. For the game, Cullen was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Toronto a 1-0 lead.

Smith attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

New York is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
