Eagles Capture Close Win
The Washington Eagles defeated the New York Gothams, 4-3, in Federal Association action at Gotham Stadium. Washington pitcher Jim Stewart had a standout performance. With the loss, New York falls to 3-5.

Al Marino came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Washington manager Joe D'Aprile commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
