| Mavericks Earn 3-2 Win Against Arrows | Milwaukee got a valiant performance from pitcher Mel Maddox, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kansas City Mavericks. Kansas City won the game, 3-2. Maddox threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. John Moss, 1-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Mavericks raised their record to 20-33.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Phil James to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mavericks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
