| Estill Hits 2 home runs in Gothams Win | Gothams first baseman Hank Estill put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Suns. Estill went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for New York in the contest. The winning pitcher was Clarence Reimer. His record now stands at 6-13. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Gothams. Bill Howard got the save, his 14th in 22 chances.
Estill had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 changeup from Whitey Stewart, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Gothams a 4-2 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Estill.
Estill called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
