Wolves Suffer 6-3 Setback | Los Angeles Stars starter Jimmy Morris pitched well against the Toronto Wolves at Dominion Stadium, leading his team to a win, 6-3. Morris, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 5, and allowing 3 runs. Hank Myer nailed down his 9th save.
With two out in the top of the ninth, Lou Allen had a game-changing hit. The Stars center fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Whitey Stewart, making the score 5-3, Los Angeles.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Morris after the game.
