Foresters Win, 8-6, in Extra Frames | The Cleveland Foresters powered past the Kansas City Kings, 8-6, in 11 innings at Prairie Park. Paul Williams belted 3 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored three times, to lead the charge. Hank Berkowitz, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Cleveland now sits at 47-28, while Kansas City falls to 37-36.
Had Williams not come through in the top of the 11th, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Williams hit a 2-run home run. The Foresters took the lead, 8-6, and never looked back.
"There's no quit in this team," said Foresters manager Jim Whitehead. | |
