Tice Memorial Stadium II was the site of a competitive game between the Los Angeles Stars and Cincinnati Cannons.

In a low-scoring contest, Cincinnati pitcher Ike Hawley was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Hawley, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Dutch Lane picked up his 7th save of the season.

Frank Bradshaw, who led the FA in stolen bases with 29 in 1965, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Bradshaw.

The Cannons saw their record improve to 22-27.
