Houston got a valiant performance from pitcher George Roy, but it wasn't enough to beat the Atlanta Copperheads. Atlanta won the game, 4-1. Roy threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. The Copperheads lead the Federal Association East by 3½ games.

Atlanta took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Henry Woods hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Copperheads in front, 3-1.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Houston manager Glenn Carney. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
