| On Road, Houston Beats Philadelphia, 3-1 | The Houston Comets used a great performance from Spencer Reese, who is tied for 7th in the FA with a 2.57 ERA, to beat the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-1, at Liberty Coliseum. The Comets win now puts them at 27-24.
There was more than one reason the Comets beat the Keystones, but Reese's big at-bat in the top of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Houston manager Glenn Carney. "That's what Spencer is right now." | |
