| Chicago Topples New York, 5-1 | John Baab was a vital contributor to the 5-1 Chicago victory over New York. The Cougars first baseman was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Chicago reliever Charlie Lawson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. John Alfano took the loss. The win puts Chicago at 26-24 this season.
With Chicago leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Baab hit a 2-run single off New York hurler Emmett Thornton. It was the 51st hit of the season for Baab and put his team ahead, 5-0.
