| Suns Pick Up 7-2 Win Against Baltimore | Baltimore third baseman Hal Blank was sensational. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Clippers, 7-2. The winning pitcher was Moe Powell. He's now 4-3. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits for the Suns. The Federal Association West-leading Suns are 31-17.
The Suns got a big at-bat from right fielder Sam Forrester. For the game, Forrester went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Los Angeles manager Jim Coulter. | |
