The New York Imperials picked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, topping the San Francisco Sailors, 4-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Jim White. He played a principal role in the triumph. The 5th-place Sailors have lost 5 straight games.
Mike Counts was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Imperials pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That game was intense," Counts said. | |
