Minutemen Take Down Pioneers, 6-5, in 10
The Boston Minutemen dealt the St. Louis Pioneers a 6-5 loss in 10 innings at Pioneer Field III. Dick Ward was the star on offense. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Bud Shireman picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Lloyd Ethridge suffered the loss. Harry Draper recorded the save, his 1st.

Boston used the timely hitting of Bill Robinson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Minutemen on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Big win," said Robinson.
