| Pioneers Deal Washington 6-3 Defeat | No one was more impactful than Frank Green in the 6-3 St. Louis win over Washington. Green, who is tied for 3rd in the FA in extra base hits with 19, was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Harry Anderson, the winner, improved to 4-3. He held the Eagles to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Bill Medley picked up his 1st save of the season.
With St. Louis leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Harry Anderson hit a 2-run single off Washington pitcher Don Eddy. It put the Pioneers ahead 3-0.
St. Louis manager Babe Johnson was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
