| Imperials Stun Mavericks, 4-3 | Dyckman Stadium was host to some action-packed drama.
Howie Weston had a strong outing for the New York Imperials against the Kansas City Mavericks at Dyckman Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. New York reliever Bud Pace snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jack Turner shouldered the loss.
New York got a knockout punch from Phil Terry. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Terry described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
The victory gives New York a record of 23-21. | |
