The New York Gothams racked up a win at Gotham Stadium, bumping off the Boston Minutemen, 9-2. Harry Hayward, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. The losing skid has reached 7 games for Boston.

Sam Hamilton had a big 3-run home run for the Gothams in the bottom of the second inning. With New York leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Augie Hicks, who is a five-time All-Star, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Gothams on top, 5-0.

"We've got to get out of this funk," said Boston manager Dode Edwards.
