| Cannons Beat Wolves, 7-2 | The home crowd had a good time watching the Toronto Wolves and Cincinnati Cannons get after it.
The Cincinnati Cannons rode a solid performance from 31-year-old starting pitcher Moe Powell to a win, beating the Toronto Wolves, 7-2, at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The winning pitcher was Powell, now 3-5. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5.
Bud Cormier, who is on pace for 105 RBI this season, aided the Cincinnati cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
"Moe is one tough son of a gun," said Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton.
The Cannons, now 20-23, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
