| Minneapolis Downed, 7-5, by Copperheads | Atlanta and Minneapolis duked it out and the Copperheads came out victorious.
Minneapolis right fielder George Fisher had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Fisher slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as Atlanta beat the Millers, 7-5. Bill Hunn picked up his 1st save of the season.
Had John Newton not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Newton hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Copperheads.
"I felt good up there," said Newton. "I saw the ball well."
The Copperheads have an impressive 28-16 record. | |
