| Simmons Stars in 11-4 Clippers Win | The Baltimore Clippers defeated the Philadelphia Keystones, 11-4, at Patapsco Field. Baltimore was led by former first round draft pick Harry Simmons, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Sonny Stoyer picked up the save for Baltimore, his 2nd of the year. The Clippers are now 23-21.
Simmons contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Baltimore in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 4-2, Simmons took a changeup from Buzz Lucas and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Clippers to leap in front, 5-4.
"We're producers not directors," said Simmons. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
