| Stars Snatch 4-3 Win | The Seattle Kings got a superb performance from catcher Fred Tollefson, but the Los Angeles Stars still won the game, 4-3. Tollefson was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles starter Bob Hollister was credited with the win after throwing 79 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 27-19.
Bobby Garrison, who finished 4th in the CA in slugging percentage with .552 in 1970, had a direct impact on the outcome. Garrison contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Los Angeles up, 4-3.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Garrison told the Los Angeles Herald. "But we take nothing for granted."
