| Thornton Lays Hammer Down in 2-1 Win | Emmett Thornton, who is tied for 9th in the CA with a 5.9 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the New York Imperials against the Milwaukee Arrows at Dyckman Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. The Imperials go to 26-17, putting them first in the Continental Association East.
Thornton was dominant for New York. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits, while racking up 10 strikeouts. He threw 108 pitches over 8 innings in the contest.
"We were in it," said Milwaukee manager Randy Hendrix. "We just didn't score enough runs."
