Stoyer Dazzles in 3-0 Cleveland Win | Cleveland and Dallas took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
In a low-scoring contest, Cleveland pitcher Sonny Stoyer was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-0 win. Johnny Ogden earned the save for Cleveland, his 3rd.
Stoyer dominated for Cleveland, raising his record to 1-0. Dallas hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8.1 innings while striking out 4.
"We've got a great group of guys," Stoyer said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Wranglers drop to 4-9, as their fitful start to the 1963 campaign continues. | |
