| Arrows Take Down Stars, 3-2 | The Milwaukee Arrows faced a tenacious opponent in Los Angeles pitcher Jackie Thompson, but still scratched out a win at Lakefront Park by a final score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Thompson went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Milwaukee reliever Ben Ginsberg was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Clay Buddemeyer took the loss. Milwaukee now has a record of 27-13 with the win.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Milwaukee third baseman Bucky Raymond, facing Clay Buddemeyer, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Arrows the 3-2 win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Randy Hendrix, the Milwaukee skipper. | |
