| Wolves Winners, 6-5, Over Cannons | The Toronto Wolves defeated the Cincinnati Cannons, 6-5, at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Toronto was led by 13-year veteran Chick Reed, who went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Ray Eddy picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 5-1. Ray Smith was credited with the save for Toronto, his 10th of the season.
Jess McPherson helped out the Toronto cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a double and a walk.
McPherson told the Toronto Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
