| Washington Tacks 4-1 Loss on Atlanta | Washington pitcher Eddie Yandow had a large part in his team beating the Atlanta Copperheads, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Yandow. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Jack Kotarski. Washington, at 19-25, sits in 5th place in the Federal Association East.
Tom Lorang drove in one run for Washington. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lorang, who is tied for 6th in the FA in total bases with 79, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Atlanta hurler Jack Kotarski, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
