| Suns Sunk by Gothams | Behind the hitting of Sam Hamilton, the New York Gothams stopped the Los Angeles Suns, 9-5. Hamilton was 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Gothams. With the win over Los Angeles, the Gothams improved to 17-24.
New York left fielder George James contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 5-2.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Hamilton.
