| Minneapolis Earn 3-1 Victory at Minuteman Stadium | In a tight contest between the Minneapolis Millers and the Boston Minutemen, Charlie Martin was the determining factor. The Minneapolis right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. The save went to Ben Baird, number 9 for him. The Millers, now 24-20, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Minneapolis used the hitting of Bill Barber to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Millers on top, 3-0. For the game, Barber had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Barber. | |
