| Extra-Inning Win by Saints Over Wolves | The Montreal Saints relied on a great performance from Tommy Jackson, who is tied for 10th in the CA in innings pitched with 68.1, to beat the Toronto Wolves, 2-1, in 12 innings at Dominion Stadium. Roy Wheeler earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The last-place Saints now have a win-loss record of 16-24.
Vance Ferguson came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Toronto manager Carl Evans. | |
