| Boston Tacks 9-2 Loss on Minneapolis | The Boston Minutemen defeated the Minneapolis Millers, 9-2, at Minuteman Stadium. Boston first baseman Willie Stephens had a superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. John Lewis earned the save, his 1st, for the Minutemen. Boston, with the win, sits at 11-26.
Dick Ward was 1 for 4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Boston. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Bob Ciaramella. It was his 32nd hit of the season.
